Recap 9/9/2025
Numbers Ch.3
Numbers chapters 1 through 4 are not the most exciting chapters in the Bible, but they are important.
Believers and non-believers alike constantly seek proof of the Bible's truth. One way it validates itself is through its extensive genealogies, offering a historical path for those willing to do the work.
These chapters also show how organized God is. He divided the Israelites into groups, each responsible for a specific part of the temple, ensuring everyone had a job to do.
God also set up a system reminiscent of the Passover. He claimed the Levites as His own, with each Levite male representing the firstborn male in each family of the other groups. If there were not enough Levites, the groups had to pay five shekels for each firstborn without a Levite representative.
The Levites were to oversee the care of the Tabernacle, a place of serious business. Men who did not take their jobs seriously while working within the Tabernacle had already died (Leviticus 10:1-2).
Just to enter the Temple, the Levites underwent a long cleansing ritual and wore specific clothing to ensure a sinless environment for sacrifices.
Like a doctor going into surgery, the Levites had to ensure they brought no "germs" of sin into the Tabernacle. In this way, God could accept their offerings.
These chapters are another example of how God has worked to save us. We fell to sin in the Garden of Eden through disobedience, which is the cause of our death. But God worked through generations to bring Jesus into the world to save us from death.
The organization of the Israelites, the Tabernacle, and the sacrificial rituals of the Levites are proof that God has been with us, working to save us every step of the way.
Our responsibility is to live our lives according to the examples that God has given e us through the Israelites. We all have assignments. If we don't know what our assignment is, then pray and ask God for guidance.
We are all leaders whether we manage our household, our children, our task at work, our bodies or the car that we drive.
We have to adopt a way of organizing our responsibilites.
We have to make sure that the people we manage understand their importance and their responsibilites.
We have to do it in a way that is 'clean' or pleasing to God.
Walk Discussion:
We had a great discussion on how many times the killing of male babies were mentioned in the Bible. The following are the ones we could think of.
When the Egyptians tried to kill all the Israelite baby boys,
God brought the Passover - killing all the first borns- during the plagues on Egypt,
King Herod killing all the baby boys to try and prevent Jesus from coming,

Don't have much to wrap, then prepare to help others. Wrapping paper and tape will be available. Please feel free to donate any wrapping materials if you feel led.
Health goals
Pray and think about the goals that God has for your life. He has many, but one of the areas we concentrate on in Walk and Talk is our health. How do you think God wants us to care for ourselves? What steps are we taking to be the best person we can be?
See you Tuesday!!
Keep up with Cornerstone Events!
