This week (9/9/25) We will begin our discussion in the book of Numbers chapters 1-3 but the focus will be on Chapter 3. Next week (9/16/25) Numbers Ch 5 |
Recap 9/2/2025
Romans 7:14-20
Sometimes we frustrate ourselves. We make the same mistakes over and over. We misread situations and end up making things worse. We feel unworthy, hopeless, frustrated, and angry with ourselves.
Believe it or not, Paul, who God trusted to write at least 7 books in the Bible, can relate! He confesses that he has 'the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.' (v.18)
He does a great job explaining the dilemma of our sinful nature in Romans 7. It is a reminder that we aren't the only ones struggling to control ourselves and to act in a way that is pleasing to God, because even one of the most renowned apostles struggled with his sinful nature.
It is a daily battle. And there will be days we will fail, but good news! That is why Jesus died on the cross. He knew we were not able to live a sinless life without help.
I imagine Jesus dying on the cross had to be the worst and most complicated part of God's salvation plan. Jesus had to choose to endure a lot of pain, humiliation, and torture to set us free from sin.
Now He has risen! The hardest part, pain and death, is now over, and all that is left for Him to do is wait for us to acknowledge and accept his help in our day-to-day lives.
I liken it to when God parted the Red Sea for Moses. The impossibly hard part was done for the Israelites. The sea was actually parted! All the Israelites had to do was accept God's help by having enough faith and courage to walk the dry ground through the sea to freedom and safety.
Even now, Jesus is patiently waiting for our acceptance of Him. He is waiting to lend a hand in any situation. It does not matter how small, ugly, or embarrassing the situation may be. He is waiting for us to ask for help.
Physical health is one of our main focuses in Walk and Talk. As women, we are the other half of a complicated creation. But no matter the issue or how complicated it is, no one knows our bodies better than the Creator.
This presents us with a way to practice our faith in Him. Ask Him to help us reach our goals of a healthier body and mind.

Last semester, we started doing trail walks, one Saturday a month. So far, we have walked the Botanical Gardens and Watson Mill Park. Our next adventure will be Sandy Creek Park. Think about what Saturdays would be best for us to trail walk. We typically walked early Saturday morning or late evening.

Potluck Tuesday was also a suggestion from last semester. Anyone interested in doing a Potluck once a month? Open to suggestions on an ideal day and time we can do this.
Christmas wrapping party! Save the date December 17th.
What is a wrapping party? It is where we can bring our personal Christmas gifts to wrap in a fun, food-filled, camaraderie-filled environment. Invite others whom you think may benefit. Don't have much to wrap, then prepare to help others. Wrapping paper and tape will be available. Please feel free to donate any wrapping materials if you feel led.
Health goals
Pray and think about the goals that God has for your life. He has many, but one of the areas we concentrate on in Walk and Talk is our health. How do you think God wants us to care for ourselves? What steps are we taking to be the best person we can be?
See you Tuesday!!
